a stick version of Erasmic, which is tallow based, with a great scent, lather and skincare. Great shaves are guaranteed! Jeff
Awesome Soap Stick I have to admit the scent doesnt do much for me its not bad but not something I would rave about , the lather is just super protective this morning I had to shave but was time limited about 6 minutes left for a shave so I was bound it had to be a 2 pass maximum ! I grabbed the Erasmic Stick. on wet face just a few rubs of the stick..then brush the lather exploded everywhere I did a quick shave and it gave me plenty of protection and no burn !!!!! this was the ultimate test Im pretty impressed I underestimated this product for a long time. I am glad I have 4 sticks 3 in the carton box and one in use .
Excellent for a close shave I have gotten some of my closest shaves with the Erasmic shave stick. :happy088 I bought a number of these, and will never find myself without at least a couple of these in my private stock. This is one shaving stick that is truly a joy to use and if you are fond of shave sticks and get good results with them (as I do), this one will leave you absolutely speechless. The lather produced with this stick and a boar or firm badger brush is simply amazing, and not much soap is needed. The first time I used the Erasmic stick, I was amazed at how little rubbing on the face was needed to build a thick rich lather. There's something about this soap stick that yields an extremely close shave. There is a wow factor at play here, whenever I am finished shaving with this soap I am always very pleased with how close I can shave. Shave Stick Perfection! :happy088 :happy088 :happy088
I like this one better then the bowl but I still much more excited about Erasmic Cream over their soaps.
Another winner(if you can find the tallow version) This shavestick is another great one.Like his cousins the Palmolive,Wilkinson or Speick this is a tallow based one(old formula)wich gives you a good skin protection.I find it moisturizing and in the same league that Palmolive,a nose behind Wilkinson. The scent its clean and the lather could be very thick.Cheap if you find it in UK.Definitely a winner.
Re-formulated? Unconfirmed information on B&B says that what you get now when you buy this is a re-formulated version. Certainly I can't confirm all the great reports above. I had to use lots of water and work hard to get a decent lather. Did get there in the end, but had to keep adding water and more stick on subsequent latherings to keep it from vanishing. Paid about twice what I had to for this. Shop around! It is available at a low price. I do love the scent, though.
It's not just a rumor, it has been reformulated, and the new version is an entirely worthless product. It can't be made to produce an adequate lather no matter how hard you try, and the suds it does produce dissipate really quickly. The re-formulated product is entirely useless, and can't be used to shave with, so I give it ZEROS across the board. Avoid at all costs (your millage may very, but I doubt it considering how much of a disaster the new version is). PS: the new version is not stocked by many of the well known vendors, due to lack of sales. One vendor discounted it all the way down to (if I recall correctly) .75 cents per stick just to dispose of remaining inventory.
Just tried using the Erasmic shaving stick and I have to say that I can't put enough emphasis on the word "tried". This stuff has to be the worst shaving product I have ever used (or at least tried to use). No matter how many attempts were made to try and achieve a decent lather the result was always a lather that is reduced to suds within a minute or so of applying to the face. I echo John's verdict above and give it zero across the board. I would say that any goo in a can would be better than this product and that the only thing worse than Erasmic shaving stick would be sand or salt! I have now consigned the shaving stick to the bin!
Good luck with that. I have one too, where the top ingredient says tallow. But it is totally useless. Smells good, but I get more lather out of a piece of regular bar soap
I found this interesting to read about tallow soaps http://sharpologist.com/2012/05/7-common-tallow-soap-myths.html
Why do companies re-formulate a success? I'm not only talking Erasmic here, but any other shave soap/cream/after shave/whatever? All it does is make me stock up for life and flip the bird in advance, just in case I keep wondering the key-thought behind it...
a) Hippies and Tree-hugers and their anti-tallow "sensitivities" (to put it politely). and/or b) a desire on the part of the manufacture to appeal to the perceived "need" of the green market-share.
It's just crazy. Products are being destroyed. I don't buy a product for it's name, but for it's properties. Destroy those and you destroy the name/product. Quite simple.
Even grated down in a bowl, like I did with other shavesticks, was no success for me. It's still there, but only till I need the container...
I've used the tallow stick Jeff sent me and it works like a charm every time, it does take a little bit more work than my other soaps but I'm generally satisfied. If you over do it with water just a bit than it's just foamy liquid, but if you start of quite dry and add water gradually you can get pretty decent lather from it.
