My essential oil collection is continuing to grow. What EO's do you have?

    I have the following:

    Citrus
    Bergamot/Organic Bergamot
    Grapefruit/Organic Grapefruit
    Lemon/Organic Lemon
    Organic Lime
    Organic Mandarin
    Neroli
    Organic Sweet Orange
    Organic Petitgrain
    Yuzu

    Conditioning/Other
    Organic Eucalyptus
    Lavender Angustifolia
    Tea Tree
    Organic Ylang-Ylang

    Spice
    Organic Cinnamon
    Organic Ginger
    Organic Nutmeg
    Organic Vanilla

My collection initially started for adding to carrier oils, then for making home made shave oil. My organic EO's are Soil Association Food Grade, so at some point I want to try a few soda recipes :).

I now need another wooden box...

My first encounter was at the Renaissance Festival south of Atlanta twenty years or more ago. Probably mixed with a carrier oil, but Patchouli for sure. I have two different Patchouli EO's right now. They don't smell the same since the method of preparation affects the outcome. Also Lime, and Teatree. I picked up a bottle of Lavender for a friend. If she doesn't stop by and collect it soon, I'll crack the seal because I'm curious.

Lavender is nice, we use it in our diffuser.

I am looking for an Organic Spike Lavender, aka Portuguese lavender instead of the usual English and French Lavenders or Lavandin.

The Lime is everything I was hoping for. The Lavender doesn't specifically state it's origin and I haven't sniffed it yet. Teatree is medicinal smelling as it should be, and it cured a toe nail discoloration. I was a little disappointed in that brand of Patchouli because of the metallic taint of the scent.
I'm not Brand Attached having picked these up at different times and places.

We don't have Young Living or dōTERRA here in the UK :). I must say they are very pervasive on the web ;). However, I do mostly get mine online or occasionally in one UK store chain. We only have two store chains that retail EO's.

Different source plant for different scent. Is the Spike Lavender superior?

I have a hunch it's what Coca Cola use in Coca Cola rather than the another Lavender or Hybrid.

I have none, but I am interested in making a natural pre shave.

There are many posts with advice or even recipes. I keep mine simple - Grapeseed, Sweet Almond or Apricot Kernel oil. A citrus EO such as Lime or Grapefruit, and a conditioning EO such as Tea Tree, Calendula or Geranium. A friend has recommended Jojoba as a carrier oil, so I will try that next time.

I just cheat and amend existing recipes for other facial uses. Here is an example:

To make your own acne treatment, mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil or lavender essential oil with 3-3.5 oz of peach kernel oil and apply it to the affected area. If you want to make your peach oil bottle stretch longer, use 50% peach kernel oil and 50% argan oil or rosehip oil. Make sure to do a patch test on the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours to see how your skin reacts before applying it to your face or anywhere else.

Thanks for the advice, I will look further into it.
