So I received my shaving products, and noticed that expect from the styptic pencil that will expire sometime in 2018, in other product there is no expiration date, but a sign to use it up to 12 monthes from opening. This include Proraso pre shave cream (green) and alum block. The first obvious question is whay does the Proraso pre shave cream don't have expiration date? Not even manufactuing date? Second, why the alum block can only be used up to 12 monthes? What can go wrong with it? I regret perches 300ml can of pre shave cream that will surely expire before I'Il use it all.
It'll be fine. If it doesn't smell, have weird things growing on it, or light your face on fire, you are good to go.
The 12 month from opening dates are based on bacterial growth in cosmetics. Keep your fingers and brushes out of it and it will last for years, if not decades. The alum block and styptic pencil expiration dates I would completely ignore.
