As a kid. I love the water. As a kid, my favorite vacation was living in a cottage for a week at Lake Winnesquam in New Hampshire when I was young or right on the ocean at Higgins Beach Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I spent hours in the water. Unfortunately, with my fair skin, I got used to burning and peeling. Later on in life, I returned to the water, after a long absence, with my own boat and living on Lake Shasta, California on a 54 foot houseboat with all the niceties of home for a week. I have not had a true vacation in over ten years. I miss the water although, I don't miss the sunburns.
I think this year it will be Charleston, at least until fall. We might have a chance to get back to Austin to see my dad then. My favorite places to go on shorter trips are Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. If we really have time to go, I love going out west.
Catalina Island with the family unit and every June for Fathers Day I go up to Utah to hang out with Pops and we do some fishing, smoking, drinking and carousing. This year my "little" Bro and my Uncle are going to join us. Should be Lotsa fun. Good times
We're going to be limited this year, vacationing with an infant isn't exactly our idea of getting away
Ya, I see your point. My daughter is 10 so the possibilities are still open for us. We skipped the whole infant route.
