This is my first review of anything. I could not see one yet on here so thought I would give it a go. Been using safety razors for years but I am no expert. I was given this razor as a present and was a very , very happy man. I had been using its cheeper brother for some time. The three piece travel razor. Up until then all my other razors have been adjustable. I have waited to write a review because it always takes me a while to get used to a new razor. Getting the angle right etc etc. This razor has frustrated me no end. I really, really wanted to like it and use it. Not just because it was a gift but because it exudes quality. It is a pleasure to hold,use and look upon. 'I' cannot get a BBs shave with it:mad: close but not BBS. I can get a decent shave that looks ok but usung my finger I feel bristles I imagine it would be half a days growth. Normally I would do 1 WTG, 1XTG and 1 ATG(cheeks only) and job done. With this razor I got bored and lost count on how many passes I do. I have even started blade buffing ( I think it is called) ATG. I have had to change my normal way of preparing soap/cream. If I use a thick cushioning foam the razor simply will not cut through it. Now that sounds bad right?well, here is the thing because it is so mild it seems I can use any blade and any cream/soap without any problems. Skin irritation? not a chance. I don't even see how you could cut yourself with it. It is like using a cartidge razor. Before if I shaved in a morning and put a work shirt on, my neck would be irritated. I have tried everything it never went away. Now using this its gone and gone for good. I use this razor every day sometimes twice a day. Something I never did before (unless I wanted my neck bright red). There seems to be no snagging or skipping of the blade it either cuts or it does not. So this razor will be my every day razor from now on. If I want a BBS shave on my cheeks I will use another of my razors in that area. Almost perfect, Just wish it was a 'little' more aggressive. Weight: Absolutely perfect Ballance: Of all my razors this is the nicest to use Blade exposure: mild , mild , mild. Very mild. Not necessarily a bad thing. Ease of use: Can't get much easier. 3 piece razors can be a bit fiddly for some. Grip: Absolute quality machining. The knurling means this is not going to slip anywhere. Price: Hmmm This razor was a lot of money. You can see it is a quality piece very well made is it worth it? that depends on how deep your pockets are.
