Hi to all shaving den friends, I just wanted to know about this feather straight razors, I know they use a disposable blade. I checked out their website but it is not updated only two products are mentioned. What is this Artist club, are there many more sort of series of razors? Which feather razors are better, best..... . How can I get them, please tell me if you know some good online stores.
    Thank you.

I purchased a KAI Captain Excelia for about half of the cost of the feather. It uses the same Feather blades as the Artist Club and is made out of stainless steal. I personally think the KAI is a nicer razor. It is just very hard to find. I purchased mine here on TSD in the classifieds section. It is very very nice and gives a great shave!

The Feather Artist Club using blades only made by Feather, and Kai (both of Japan). They are special blades that are longer than the blade that would fit a Schick Injector (for example).

The various models in the Feather series very in two ways:

    1) What the handle is made out of: plastic, wood??
    2) The razor is either a traditional straight where the blade folds into the handle, or a Japanese style where the blade is always exposed.

The Kai appears to be the only other maker of a similiar razor, but there is not a US distributor for these razors; there was a recent (now completed) group buy for the Kai razors.

The two primary sources for the Feather Razors are:

    http://www.westcoastshaving.com

    http://www.classicshaving.com

The basic model with the plastic handle will cost roughly $100, and blades are $10-$11 per pack of 20.
