The dilemma of how to successfully and effectively DE shave in the shower has been plaguing me since my first DE shave about a week ago. Here in lies the problem. Showers are small and let's face it. A running shower will kill your lather you have just labored over making. Well I finally figured it out and got a great shave in the process. Before you jump in the shower create your lather, sit your shave mug into a sink of hot water to keep lather warm. Shower as normal, and once done plug the bottom of your shower drain with a stopper run the water as hot as you can get it and fill the bottom of shower. Once full turn water off. Put mug into hot water, thus keeping your lather warm and commence shaving. The water in the bottom of the shower not only keeps the lather warm but allows you to rinse your razor. No more washed out lather b/c the shower washes it all Away, and bonus since I waited to rince out the conditioner from my hair I got a deep conditioning treatment as well.
Do you have room for a shower bench? I find that if I sit on a bench to shave my legs A)it is a bit less awkward and B)my body blocks the shower stream so my legs stay lathered.
When my wife was so sick and weak, I got a shower bench for her so she could still shave her legs and shower with out much help. She still had problems with shaving the back of her knees. Always had Band-Aids handy for a quick patch up. All this talk about shaving in the shower brings back the memories of everyday life. Dave
