I was buying a everready razor from uk seller and paid for item on 11-23-11 , shipping charge was high 15 GBP ( only paid .99 GBP for razor ) .Shipping was claimed to be 4-8 days . Seller contacted me around 11-29-11 with apology that they hadnt mailed that they had been out of town but it was being mailed then . So waited till 12-12-01 when razor still hadnt arrived , contacted seller they said that they were waiting 21 days because I hadnt done alot of buying , but it would be mailed then , I asked seller for shipping number as the item was supposed to be international mailed sign for delivery . Seller ignored my request for shipping number . waited till after x-mas again stating that 4-8 days of shipping had passesd , I still hadnt recieved item that our last conversation I had asked for a shipping number and not recieved shipping number . Seller ignored shipping number request again . I filled a report with ebay stating all of the above facts on 12-30-11 , ebay ruled in my favor issued full refund , left feedback on seller that seller hadnt ever mailed item and had to have a dispute resolved . Seller contacted ebay and left comment that I was a unreasonable ebayer ( I guess because I didnt wait full 45 days where I couldnt dispute purchase ) . Ebay removed my comment because you cant leave info stating that you filled a dispute with ebay ( really). So just a remind to all you have only 45 days to dispute charges . here is link of ebay transaction number 330640500364 and here is ebay user id sam197710 . At least I got my money back and learned about how to file a ebay dispute .
Well at least you got your money back! That is complete BS - having to wait extra time because you "hadn't done a lot of buying", I had that once as well, though it was 14 days according to that seller, I immediately filed a complaint because on their own auction it stated that the item shipped within XX days of winning the auction. They weren't happy but too bad for them, when I pay for something I expect it to be delivered as the agreement says. Too many people are getting jerked around these days on eBay, it's sad. I have 2 items that just shipped as well from them, I think that I may forgo my fatboy hunting and no longer use it, even the last 2 transitions only 1 went smoothly.
That is why I use my CCard on all e-Bay purchases. I have had a few sales go south based on the sellers issues. The sellers knew that I could get my money back quickly and efficiently so there was not a struggle. Much more protection than any Paypal or e-Bay protection plans. I am glad you got your money back and the negative still counts against the buyer for 1 year.
That right there would have pissed me off and had me filing the claim right then on 12-12-11 instead of 12-30-11. It doesn't matter how much buying you've done, you paid them for the item and they got their money. So they had no business waiting 1 day to mail you the item, much less waiting 21 days.
Glad you got your money back. Sounds like a seller disappointed with the sale price and trying to pull a scam to me.
I've never purchased anything off of the bay, and from what I've been reading lately I don't think I ever will.
Well sometimes you can get good stuff. I got my '63 Gillette SS on there for a very reasonable price and the guy shipped it the next business day (Would have been same day but the auction closed after postal service hours). It's unfortunate though because there are a great deal of honest people buying and selling on there for the most part. Not a bad idea using the credit card though, I remember in my cardholder agreement there was an eBay clause which would basically guarantee me my money back within 4 days and then they would deal with eBay for their reimbursement...sure someone can do a scam, but good luck going up against a multi billion dollar corporation with access to frightening resources LOL.
Ive bought several things off ebay ( se razors mostly ) this is the 1st bad experiance and ebay reolved it
To many people I know have gotten burned bad. Stolen items, different than advertised, not shipping in a timely manor. I flat out refuse to purchase anything on there. This is my personal experience so YMMV.
It's a chance you take. I almost alway ask the seller the condition of an item even if there's a good description. 'are there any cracks in the handle, are the teeth bent...etc' this way I have a record of them saying specifically what the condition is. If they don't reply or make some nondescript comment, I don't bid. This way if there's something wrong after I buy it, I have their statement on record. I also ask if they'd shave with it. Most are honest.
Glad you came out ok there, I agree with Jody on that matter, esp when his listing say's (7-9 days expected delivery) and he still aint dispatched it
I have used E-Bay, there seems to be higher numbers of less then reputable sellers. I am glad you were able to get your money back. I think for now I will purchase items from fellow members here in the classifieds.
