I liked the handle on this brush, but the hairs were breaking off and it was looking like I shared my shave soaps with some cheap floosey. The whole original knot looked a bit rodent chewed. The more I used it, the worse it got Floosey Suzy needed a new wig! I got this great boar knot from The Golden Nib. It fit the Rubberset 200-3 perfect! I drilled out the old knot and epoxied in the new boar. I'm going to like this one! An affordable, tight and dense knot :happy108
Well done! I'm currently on the outlook for a good vintage brush to refit with a GN boar. The one I did is still my favorite badger brush.
Yay! You did it! :signs107 :happy096 :signs107 That looks great, Pam! I love the 'bowling pin' handle. Makes me want to get that TGN knot ordered for the one I've got sitting on my desk.
I used it today, VERY niiceee! I figured I'd like it, but this one just kicked the Burma to the curb.
That sure looks nice. I'll have to check out the Nib again because I didn't think Tony had any boar knots.
So on a scale of 1-10... How hard would it be to reknot a brush for someone with no experience in such things?
The difficulty would depend on what tools you have. I just bought a silvertip to hang in the rack beside it
Every tool under the sun, my dad has been a mechanic for 30+ years. I imagine a drill press would make cleaning out the old hair a snap...
