This may have been asked before.... Does anyone know what year Aqua Velva came onto the market? Fuzzy
The first product on the market by Aqua Velva was a mouthwash. That was in 1929. Don't know if that helps
Don't know but apparently it's alcohol content was so high that in WWII saliors actually drank it to get drunk. After the war the company started to add a "bittering" agent to discourage drinking it.
I was at a pharmacy today and the pharmist was telling a story about how when his dad went to WWII someone traded him out of something that his uncle, who owned a drug store had given him in a shaving kit. Then the fella proceeded to drink it. Might have been the mouth wash lol Fuzzy
Baysos or bayzos When I was younger and first started drinking, I heard the term bayso/bayzo used to describe some real old time drunks who apparently got through prohibition drinking cheap bay rum in the tall, narrow neck 12 or 16 ounce bottles similar to what you see for Lucky Tiger, the more traditional Clubman products or Stephans in, except the old time bottles were glass.
1912 maybe? I don't know wchnu. I heard that it was made as early as 1912. Am I right? Readers? I've been wanting to know when were certain scents were first made and when were the former ones made and discontinued.
Wow... old thread. Proof that some people know how to use the search function! Aqua Velva was introduced as a mouthwash in 1929. By the mid thirties it was advertised as an aftershave. The Ice Blue hit the national market in late 1957.
Your right I am AV crazy! :happy102 I'm crazy actually about AV Origional Sport. I just ordered it along with a few other things from SD. I can't wait to get it! Waiting for the next Star Wars movie, which by the way isn't going to be released until 2021, is easier! :happy102
THANK YOU!!! I like to say THANK YOU to ClubmanRob. Until now I didn't know that Ice Blue was introduced in 1957. I thought it was earlier.
