Edit this was originally posted in Nov 2013. For about 4 months now I have been very limited time wise due to the passing of both my father in July and my grandmother in August. I have also been dealing with care for my mother who has had MS for at least 30 years. For those who have sent well wishes, it has been appreciated. These issues have taken a lot of time away and for a time will continue to take considerable time in the near future. In between all the driving, emptying a house and dealing with bureaucratic issues, I have been able to "sneak" some time in to work a few brushes but no where near the level of work I have done in the past. Here is one that allowed me to work one step and walk away while a multiple curing processes occurred. Which worked out well time wise for me during all the activities at home, work and away. This brush was received in not too good of shape. The brush was severely scarred and scratched to the point of where even the lettering was affected. This took about a week of a few minutes hands on work then a whole day of curing. Then more hands on work, and then a whole day of curing. Finally all the multiple steps and application of various products was complete and the experiment was complete. Here is the finished product. Again thanks for everyone who sent me well wishes. It is appreciated and hopefully early next year I will be back on a more normal schedule.
Gary... I wasn't aware of the family issues... my thoughts and prayers. The brush is just gorgeous; great job.
Yes...pray things will continue to improve. Encouraging to hear how you have worked through things. It is in difficult times that we are both strengthened and shaped! Great work! Really impressive! Top looks new! Can't wait to see mine...
GDC, your restos are as impressive as your perseverance my friend. Keep your chin up and know that you have a place to take a break when you need to. I truly hope things normalize for you dude.
If you're using one of the newer Firefoxes, that's the reason. Hit "more options" and you can edit again.
Beautiful. When I get around to restoring some brushes I'm going to be poking around here for tips. My family has taken quite a few hits this year as well, so I sympathize and send prayers for strength and comfort. It's people like you that make this community so worthwhile.
You're welcome. It seems to be a FF issues that's been around for the last 2 or 3 versions. If they even know about it, they don't seem to be fixing it any time soon.
Dito Gary, it's good you could find the time to do the restore..it looks wonderful! Sorry to hear about your loss. All my condolences and prayers...
Wow, that came out amazing! Where did you get the knot? I've used several of the boar knots from TGN and Ace Shaving, but I'd like to try one of those sometime.
Thanks to all of your well wishes. I have found the time to do some work but it has been limited compared to earlier this year. Mostly I was working or completing items that were promised to people before all these life changing issues cropped up. I have had a more time the past two weeks to work on items than the past three months or so. To all, look for something interesting and new coming soon Again, thanks!
"BEAUTIFUL" restore as usual.. I'm so very sorry to hear of your family problems..Hang in there friend...
Thanks! Phil 4:13 seems to be the past year's theme and hopefully Phil 3:14 will be this years theme.
