In case you guys didn't know, Bruno out of Belgium, has been offering Blades that have been Shaped, Heat Treated, Ground, and then Tempered for sale in O2 steel.. This is the second one I have done, my friend TC had Bruno send the blade out to me like this So they need final polishing, scales and of course a full honing.. TC and I talked it over and finally we agreed on the Ivory with a Black G10 liner, this is the final outcome, the O2 steel at a 60-61 RHC temper really reminds me of the Vintage razors on the hones and on the face.. Specs: Blade: SnailForge out of Belgium polished to a nice Satin Glow Scales: Preban Elephant Ivory at .085" thickness lined with Black G10 at .030" giving an overall thickness of .120" Wedge: Also Ivory at .055" at the end you see Pins: Solid Brass Outside washers: Solid Brass Inner Bearing washers: Solid Brass Honing: Chosera 1-5-10, Zulu Grey (TC's) Thanks for looking
I'm right there with Steve! Out of words. Awed really. Actually, the thought of you making custom razors is pretty damned interesting to me Glen. Scratch built customs, even if you are teaming with someone, has me thinking of where I put my checkbook.........
Beautiful. I absolutely love the scale lining in black G-10. The wedge end looks great. It shows the uniformity in thickness of scales, scale lining and perfect wedge. I also love the satin like finish of the blade. Amazing.
Beautiful blade to begin with, but Glen, the PB ivory & black scales truly make this an exceptional piece. Nicely done!
Price: I honestly don't know I'm sorry I have worked on a couple now and have more on the way but I don't know what Bruno from Snailforge actually charges for them, I would imagine that it depends on size and how fancy you get .. He is on FB however under Snailforge... This is the other one I did As you can see Mike ordered his a little more tricked out, from Bruno then I added some more bluing on the tang and tail to match the spine after polishing the blade.. Scales are Purple & Black G10 with a Vivid Violet Flash Acrylic wedge Nickel Silver pins a stacked SS washers The infamous gssixgun Balance shot heheheh
The first one is the most beautiful blade of any kind that I have ever seen. Your craft at its best. Thanks for sharing.
