Welcome @desdichado from here in western NY. Glad you decided to join us at TSD. What razor are you using? I'm a vintage man.
The Dorco Prime is very similar to the weishi razor and that is basically a modern copy of a Gillette Super Speed. They will give you a nice shave ..... just remember to ride the cap. I'm not a big fan of Dorco blades, but do work. Nacets are very nice blades and very reasonable in price.
While you in Brisbane, try to stop in to some of the local antique shops you may find some nice English Techs, Flares, and other goodies.
You have watched Crocodile Dundee i assume? Shaving down under is much like anywhere else, they just use bigger knives!
Lmao. Yes Sir you are correct. I think the last good cut I got was from a blade not properly seated in a lather catcher...just a stoopid moment on my part.
