Gem Junior Bar

Hello, I received this razor from the 2019 traveling box round 1. I ordered a used case that I thought was period correct. The handle is too long for the case to close even unscrewed. I assume this is not the correct case or is there another handle that would fit and be period correct? Razor gives a fine shave.

I think that is an incorrect handle, at least it does not match the Gem junior I have. There are.sure.to be some experts who know for certain around here. I have seen extensions that screw onto the handle on the old one shown here.

 

My razor has some writing but not as much as yours. Maybe a different version?

 

I’m thinking it’s one or the other.

Maybe the top one. I’ll keep looking. Probably try to find a shorter handle.

 

I think @Jayaruh Can help you with a wooden handle. He made some I don’t know if he still has any

 

@Jrdelgado, On a side note; Does the bottom part of the handle come out?

 

It does not. But it has threads in it.

Now that I look at my GEM’s, I notice I have that handle, but it is with a Damaskeene, not a Junior.

 

Then I bet I need the wooden handle or the one that comes in 2 piece?

 

Can you tell what year it is from?

Correct handle wrong box. There are seversl handles that can go with the GJB. I will try to get some pics of a few of mine.

The treads in the bottom of the handle are where the stropper attachment would be stored. If you can stand listening to me rattle on this video shows it.

We need to make a case “primer” for the GEM Junior Bar and other lather catchers.

 

Great video! I have the same model. With the stropper in the handle. Just didn’t put enough muscle behind first to unscrew it!

Yea most people do nor know about them I think so they do not get unscrewed much.
