Bought this of off Ruby Lane Antiques, already had one like it except it had a Gold plated head and guard and did not have the Gillette logo on top of head. The one I just got is nickel plated, logo and arrow on top as well as logo on bottom of the handle. Since the handle is plastic, the razor is very top heavy, and may seem imbalanced, like the opposite of the Gyroscopic Effect. Nevertheless, combined with a good cream, soap, gel, etc... it delivered one of the best shaves I have ever had. I do not go ATG anymore, so I cannot say that it delivers a BBS shave, but I am confident it would if I chose to do so. I believe it was produced in the 40's and early 50's, but not too sure, I admit. At any rate, if anybody sees one at an antique store and there is a good price on it, pick one up and give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised. I know I was. I gave neutral ratings (5) where I thought aspects of the razor were satisfactory but did not stand out profoundly; and also gave the price a 5 because of how much is being charged for it, worth of the razor to the buyer, the relativity of it all. So while the average is at 60%, I'm judging by the quality of the shave it gave me...which I found to be top notch.
