After getting our car hit and not being able to go get nail polish, I decided to re-paint it this way. Whether or not it holds up, just have to wait and see. I used a craft paint, Tuscan Red, made by Apple Barrel, as it's an exact match to the original. First I removed what was left of the original paint with a pretty used up fine sanding sponge. I didn't want to scratch the nickel much, but it scuffs it up nicely. First I used self etching primer, then baked in a toaster oven. Then the red and baked again. And a final light coat of clear satin spray paint, and baked again. Each baking was at 175 degrees for about 25 minutes. you could go more, but I get impatient at times and I'll just leave it alone for a couple of days. And this is the final result............
Yeah, it would help, thanks. If you need copies of instruction for Gillettes, let me know. I'll PM my address.
