After seeing Big T's awesome haul (whereupon he got a red tip SS in excellent condition along with two other razors for less that I paid for my red tip SS which is not in as good condition. Though I am not the tiniest bit jealous of that jerk at all ) I recalled my RT and the fact that I haven't even used it yet. So I decided to give it a go today. Haven't used an aggressive razor since "The Incident" a few months ago, so I was a touch worried. I loaded up the RT with a Big Ben blade. I hadn't used the Big Ben but I had been lead to believe it is an excellent testing razor as it is sharp and smooth in equal proportions. I used the Sara PS oil and face lathered some Arko. The lather wasn't as awesome as it usually is, perhaps because of the oil, I'm not sure. Anyway, I completed a three pass shave with no buffing or touch up of any kind. No cuts, no nicks, no errors. I had a true BBS without trying at all. Not a bit of razor burn. The Witch Hazel went on with minimal burn. This was one heck of a shave. I will have to have a couple more shaves to make sure this isn't an outlier, but I may have a new favorite razor.
I have a red tip...but it's an English Rocket version. I "borrowed" it from my dad in 1994 ;-) It is aggressive but with correct angle you are fine.
