  1. Hi Guys how are yous?
i wanted to ask your comments on this Q
The Gillette Safety Razors were they made from Steel or Aluminium?
Why ask this , is that i want to clean some of them but back here in South Africa we dont get Scrubbing Bubbles , so i went to the hard ware store and got some Dursol Shine http://www.dursol.com i am going to clean a very old black tip super speed and test this product on this razor and see what results i will get.

Most Gillettes are nickel or gold plated brass or copper, but there are several exceptions. The black tip superspeed is one of the exceptions. There were at least two models of these. One with an aluminum handle, that was not plated, another that I believe was actually steel. The aluminum one will be very light. Good luck with the clean, and let us know how it goes!

One other thing you could try is toothpaste. I have used it to clean some especially dirty razors and it did a good job.

  3. Thank you very much, i will try get a toothpaste thats got baking soda in i am sure that should do a good job to, i am also going to put them in a pot with vinegar , water and boil them.
