(Inspired by BE's thread.) I came by one that isn't bound, as such, but will only adjust from 7-9. So far it had several turns in an ultrasonic cleaner (with the additive available for those) and an external brushing. Will I be wasting my time to go through boiling, vinegar, and the like?
I going to give it a mineral oil soak tonight. I really hope it'll fix the razor, because I've really loved my 2 shaves with it... 7-9's a terrible range to be stuck in lol...
7-9 could be an underclocking, try pushing in the clicking spring with a pen or something and adjust it past the 9, then try it. That is my best guess.
Exactly what I was thinking. I had this problem with a slim a while back, and this little trick of pushing in the spring did the trick. There was a thread describing how to do it, just can't remember if it was here or over across the street.
Thanks again, Rodd and Mike. You had it right, this baby works just right, now. You're each a credit to the community.
Thanks for that tip, Kaveh, I was told 2-3 was a great starter range with the slim I first bought, though I've often wondered what going higher might produce.
To a Super Adjustable? The pinnacle of Gillette safety razor production? Bite your tongue! I'd rather be a hammer than a nail. Yes I would. If I only could, I surely would. Seriously, though - glad that worked for you. The Super is a great razor.
