Just wondering. Are those old Brit prices, like 11s 7d and 5s 8d? I think with inflation, eleven bob in 1950 would be worth about fifteen quid (18.50 USD, 25 CAD) today. It was a pretty good deal.
I actually remember it well. I still have a bunch of old pennies and ha’pennies, and I have a boxed, mint set of the last pre-decimal coins. And I still sometimes refer to a 50P piece as ten bob. I’ve lived in North America (2 yrs Canada, 40+ USA) but old habits die hard.
just arrived...x-1 canadian rocket. after a good scrub.been sitting for decades, very tarnished. note the no "made in"
It cleaned up really nicely. Is that the correct case for a '51? My A1 Flare Tip came with a tan case like that, but my X2 Super Speed is in a blue styrene case. There again, mine are both USA made and not Canadian.
thank you.i don't think so but not entirely sure.the case is canadian made but has patent 1954 on it so most likely a flare tip case. the razor does have the slim black tip head though, which is nice.
I really like those late 40's to early 50's models. The design is simple, clean and classic - everything you need in a TTO razor and nothing you don't!
i agree,i liked my 46-47 no notch version and 41 ranger tech.this 1948 aristocrat jr is my favorite at present,
That is a spectacular razor! I have a '49 NDC and a '52 X4. I also have a '46 Milord and both black tips, but I should really find some Brit models.
