I became a member some years ago and thought I would come back. I setup a new account, and here I am. I'm 76 years old and have been shaving with DE razors since I was 16. My first razor that I kept for 10 years was a 1960 Gillette Toggle. Since then I've used a 1917 Gillette "Bell" handle, Senator, various Aristocrats, Fat Boy, Rolls Razor, Schick Model A and B, Milord, etc. I have a serious case of RAD and just placed an order for the new Weishi/QShave adjustable razor. Looking forward to an enjoyable time diving into the Forums and offering my 2 cents. Here is my current razor...I bought this 'Mint" Toggle a few years ago. It brings back fond memories!!!
Welcome, and welcome back @eddieb20842! Always great to gave an experienced shaver on the boards. Good looking Toggle and it brings up a question - How do they compare to later adjustable Gillettes?
I find the shave is more comparable to a Gillette Slim than a Fatboy. If I'm not mistaken, the Toggle weighs 88 grams vs 80.8 grams for the Fatboy. The Toggle is the heaviest razor that Gillette ever made. The balance point makes the razor easy to shave with...the weight does the shaving while you just have to guide it. No pressure needed to get a BBS shave.
