Glass hones have been around for decades for DE blades, along with using the inside of a water glass or porcelain cup. They're generally considered to be a gimmick. However, he does talk about using it in place of a strop, not a hone, which would indicate that maybe it's just aligning a used edge, especially after 'roughing' up the surface. Why on earth you would do this in place of a decent strop IDK, and palm stropping has always worked well for me plus I never misplace the strop! Cheers, Steve
