Nothing really...I would say it occasionally because it seemed easier than say, "yes, you made a great point and I completely agree..." But hey, we could make that a rule...no +1!!!

The only down side to that is there are times when it is appropriate to the conversation (and just downright funny) to have a smiley posted and that's it. Like "rolleyes" when someone posts something silly, off-topic or a little risqué.
