    Just a quick intro.
I have been lurking here as a readeer only for a while, but have decided to log on and make this a regular reading (another time waster) portion of my daily routine.
    I am a 37yo professional helicopter mechanic.
I have been wetshaving since I was 15, and due to heredity, I am a headshaver of about 9 years. I took up the brush 10 months ago, and the DE 3 months ago.

I am out looking for new lathering creams, since my supply of Body Shop for Men ran out.

    TIA for all the help.

    Hi Rob,

Glad to have you onboard. A couple of suggestions for great lathering creams is The Shave Den (just click on the Store link) or The Gentlemen's Quarter. Both make fabulous creams.

Welcome Rob to The Shave Den. With nine years of headshaving under your belt I'm sure you will be of some help HERE. Glad to have you a-board!

Rob, welcome to TSD. Another suggestion for cream is Taylor's any flavor. Can't say enough good stuff about TOBS creams.

    Im from Dallas too!!!!

I love the Shave Den's shaving creams (Lime, Subzero, Bamboo and Teak) as well as Truefitt and Hill (West Indian Lime and 1805). If you end up purchasing Shave Den shaving cream you have to also buy some shave milk in your favorite scent. I cant say enough of how awesome the milk is...

    Welcome Rob!

I'll second Tracy's recommendation, TOBS is some of the best irregardless of price. Don't overlook Proraso either.

Thanks, I did see that, but I do not meet all of the requirements, so I will be happy to let that go to someone else.

I was checking out the shave den store earlier, and will be purchasing some stuff from there, as I need stocking stuffers for myself, and a few friends who are beginning in their journey down the Path of The Brush.

Thanks for the warm welcome from all

Ooops......good catch. :o Things have been so hectic for me lately, I didn't even think to look at your join date.

Thanks for paying attention to the rules.

Also, the min post requirements would not be met unless I post-whored a lot to get my count up. No matter.

Looking at the shave creams listings, is there any way to segregate only the lathering ones?

    They all lather. ;)

Ahh...that. You are a perceptive one! I like you!

That's just what the packaging says on it. Some say lather, some don't, but they all do lather.

    Heaven forbid.

No, I use my brush, be it the cheapie BurmaShave unit, but I had to start somewhere, and I was not going to drop the coin for the "hand carved stag horn with silver embellishment ensconched a$$ hair from a pre-pubescent silver backed badger" $300 unit until I made sure that a brush worked well for me.

Now, I am out looking for pre-teen badgers that are shedding.

The thing is even a lathering cream can be used without a brush. ;)

I understand that I do not have to use a brush. A brush works well for me, and I enjoy it. It also seems to be a great tool, and as a mechanic, I am a sucker for good tools.

Welcome to TSD! Lots of great help and info here. BTW, what is your razor of choice for shaving your head?

I am using a Gillette Slim Adjustable W1 date IIRC with a Merkur blade. I plan to get a sampler pack, to give a good selection a try.
