These are the ones I got off of ebay in the last week:) I guess I kinda got carried away but three are very nice ones. You guys saw the Boker with the 4/8th blade and the Wade&Butcher.
Now I'm just waiting on the two hones. One is a Swaty and the other is a Kleen Kutter. The last is a Rolls razor with the built in hones and strop.
My wife bought some Burts Bees shaving cream and after shave for me which I used tonight and it's very good and has a nice clean smell.
Thought I would share these with everyone. I hope I did well. I know the Engels is a great one. It came in today and I used it tonight and got a very good shave from it.

It's funny...I posted the same thing on another forum, and I got three offers by PM THAT SAME DAY.

I don't know if that's a good sign or a bad, but...be on the lookout!

And yes, one will be on its way to me shortly! :D

I am loving the look of that Engels. Clean, mean and perfectly lovely. As others have said, nice score

Thanks Guys! I spent who knows how many hours looking through pages of razors to find those. When I saw the Bonsa I knew I had to go for that one. I tried the Engels last night and I know your'e supposed to start with shaving your cheeks first but I felt so confident with it I shave my whole face and had no problems. Well one tiny nick:)
I don't know where these guys find NOS eazors that are 50 or more years old but I'm glad they do find them!
That Rolls is really neat. There are two more on ebay now and one is perfect and looks new. It's a good deal really since you get a small strop, hone and a razor. Nobody seemed interested since I paid $27 for it.
I'll be watching for the postman for some more coming in today. I'm like a kid at Christmas---LOL!

I have yet to start into str8 shaving so I don't know know, but that rig looks great! Very attractive collection too. My fave is the 'Spezial' - real nice logo and blade decoration.

The gold that is on the blades, I have seen it on others. Is it gold? I imagine on vintage blades this wears off?? If you find one half worn, could you clean off the rest so it looks ok again?

    str8 noob >:)

Thanks! A lot of them are gold from what I understand. I will leave it as is and try not to remove any of it. Gives it some character:)

Great razors there. Good pick ups!

The goldwash is, generally, indeed gold. You do need to be careful with it. The gold itself will not rust, but the metal underneath will.

You also need to be careful if cleaning goldwashed straights. You will rub off the goldwash with even the most gentle polish. Although I guess this is a good thing if you want to get rid of the goldwash. But I am not sure many people really want to do that - not when they first get the razor, at least.

If you want to put goldwash back on, I know a guy who can do that. I also hear, but have never looked into it, that jewellers can also do it.

    James.

Thanks Jimbo. I sure do want to keep the gold intact at least what's left of it. I plan to make sure the blade is immediately wiped dry after use so I don't get as much corrosion build up over time. I do have a silver cloth that I can use around the Gold areas that may work.
