Nice story. I wish the news would cover more of this stuff rather than devote days worth of coverage to psychopaths that shoot up their schools.

As a matter of fact, it was on the news that I saw this story. I'll admit, I choked up a bit.

WOW! Brought a tear to my eye. Great story!! Thanks for posting that.

Now if some of the little "darlings" that walk home in front of my house every day had that attitude rather than the pissy, smart assed, punk attitudes they have currently, life would be great.

I'd like to spank those kid's parents for letting their little darlings get the way they are.

I know it was from the news but it seems they always put this stuff at the last couple minutes of the show and they always treat it like, "here's the little bit of good news we could find". I'd much rather see people like this get 15 minutes of fame. That's all.

Its great to see stories like the OP get airtime. In days long past, such stories were frequently reported and extolled. Tragedies were also reported, but just the facts ma'am with no sensationalism or glorification. IMHO the old newsreels were the ideal - quick, concise, informative, accurate, but not cynical or dwelling on tragedies.

Mass killings increase the number of viewers at the various media outlets. That is why they report on each incident for days or weeks on end, wringing every last dollar from their increased audience. Unfortunately, this has the effect of encouraging copycats. That is good for the media, but terribly bad for everyone else. It is infinitely better to report stories of honesty, integrity and decency instead. Encouraging people to copy those attributes would make our society just that much better. If the media is going to create the news instead of merely reporting it, they might as well do it in a positive manner.

AWESOME! This one hits home. I have a nephew who is autistic. I can only hope he gets to feel that same sense of pride, if only for a moment.

Its crazy when I was a kid u always saw stuff like this in my town. Now a few months ago a lady at kfc was making rude comments about a member of my churches son who has down syndrome. I must admit my comments to the woman were very unchristian. But the woman is no longer welcome in kfc according to the manager

I'm touched. Life is too short to get worked up over a high school ball game. We all know the kids and parents who freak out whenever their team messes up a play or drops a ball or something like that.

As Males, as we get older we produce less Testosterone, this leads to more and more emotion in our thoughts and feelings, hence we get more emotional in general, it's nothing to be concerned about for any of us, just be prepared to blub like a girl (yes I know your reading this Sara) and lets all link arms with our pals as we walk down the street, and giggle a lot.
Absolutely great story for ALL concerned.Well done Yanks.
