As I have got older I have found some soaps with fragrances have got my skin red after a shave. In most all the cases the red gradually went away over time after the shave. So I decided to try some unscented products to see if there was a different result. Yes the results have been different and the issue has not been happening with the unscented products. These three soaps so far have performed exceptionally well for me and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an unscented shave soap. All three soaps are decently priced.

    1. The Razor Emporium in house product is vegan and unscented and just works nicely and lathers up nicely.
    2. The one Stirling Soap product is a beeswax and tallow based unscented soap that works great. Also it’s a great choice for those that don’t get along with lanolin. This formula of soap still lathers up pretty nice.
    3. The next Stirling Soap product is there normal tallow product with no scent the Naked & Smooth Soap. This soap lathers really nice like all the Stirling Soaps I have used.

    Happy Shaves To Everyone,

@Bill G I'm glad to hear that unscented soaps are working for you. I too discovered that unscented products were a big help for my face. A dermatologist diagnosed me with rosacea and switching to unscented soaps and lotions cleared it up better than prescription medications.

Both of the Stirling soaps that you mention are great, but I especially like the beeswax formula. Have you tried the Sterling Sheep? I admit that I did not care for the sheepy smell. I haven't tried the Razor Emporium soap, but I have considered it. For a while I was buying every unscented shave soap I could find, and enjoying all of them. I just did a quick look in my soap cabinet and I have 17 unscented shave soaps at the moment. :)
For a while I was determined to stop buying and just USE what I have. Then last month for my birthday I suggested that my wife buy me two more unscented soaps....

Interestingly, one that I keep coming back to was also one of the first I tried -- TSD lanolin shave soap (a glycerin soap with bentonite clay). Don't get me wrong, I love all the fancy artisan tallow and veggie soaps, but I still keep the TSD glycerin soap in my rotation. It's a personal favorite.

Have you tried unscented shave balms and lotions?

    MoAllen,

Thank you so much for all the feedback and information about your experience with your unscented soaps and your path to finding them. I really appreciate it. I have not tried the Stirling Sheep Soap only because of the sheepy smell you and others in reviews have mentioned. I will look into the TSD product you mentioned for sure. I have tried the Razor Emporium unscented balm (a little goes a long ways) and it works nicely but if I use to much I find it makes my skin a hair to waxy feeling. I have also tried the Stirling Soaps unscented balm as well and it’s a nice balm. I also plan on trying other unscented splash’s and balms in the future as I run across them.

I also really like the Bee’s Wax Stirling Soaps unscented formula shave soap.

Again thank you for the great suggestions and information.

A quick follow up to my original posting.

After now using these three products for a bit, all of them really good. I have to say I really do like the Stirling Soaps Bee’s Wax formula a lot. This soap for me really does work great and I reach for it to use with my shaves quite a bit. Again as said you can’t go wrong with any of the three soaps I mentioned in my humble opinion.

    * Also I noticed MoAllen above in his posting also likes the Stirling Soaps Bee’s Wax formula shave soap.

    Happy Shaves Everyone,
