so my shaving experience started with electric. 2 years and my beard area had become a greenish tint color. Yes you heard right . Green. After watching mantics videos i switched to cartridge shaving with lather. It became less green but still there. Now i use a "sea gull" china razor and either extra thin gillette blades or astra superior blades. Lather up with super lather- aos unscented and glycerin soap. Kent brush. Still have my greenish tint but less obvious than with cartridge shaving. Question is- what do i do to make it dissappear? I use body shop shea butter movisturizer at night before bed and has seemed to help a little. Any suggestions. Also The shave is still not optimal...
there was another post just recently regarding the same issue. never heard of anyone's face turning green from shaving.
Seriously, you havent been to a Dermatologist? Wow. Reminds me of the kids with gross amounts of acne who are like "why would I go to the dermatologist?, its just a pimple!". Anywho, sounds like an allergic reaction to metal.
I'd see a doctor, that is just odd. I don't think it has anything to do with shaving. I've seen a fake blondes hair turn somewhat greenish after swimming in pools with too much chlorine.
i think it could be a reaction to metal. Happened with both electric and wet shaving...lets see what happens... Maybe helps to know i am of indian origin..reasonably fair skinned..hmm cant think of anything else that could be connected...
thank you for the laughter coming out of me. I agree that you look into your water. If that is fine, consult a physician.
How has this thread gone this far with no one asking for a pic? Kaizen, I'm not sure if you're saying your face or facial hair are green so post a pic and maybe it will give us a clue of what is going on.
I know exactly what hes saying. His face has a green hue to it. I've seen it before. Not in this form though. I've seen it when people have metal allergies and wear a cheap piece of jewlery. Skin turns greenish and than eventually sores start emerging.
Jaykay, I've seen that as well. Jewellery containing copper can cause a green stain on the skin, but that's easy to figure out as the chemical reaction occurs where the skin touches the jewellery. If it's an allergy then there would usually be other symptoms like redness, itching, or the sores you mention.
Can it perhaps be a question of pigmentation? When I have no suntan, the color I have is yellowish dark. I think in English, it is "olive skin"--did I say it right?
Call up a Dermatologist and see if you can get any information out of them over the phone first, ask if they have ever seen or heard of that sort of thing first. I think a "basic" exam at a Dermatologist runs atleast $100 and then if they have to do any kind of tests it goes way up from there
