I am a Safety Razor shaver from the Netherlands, have been some years now, i had used Gillette cartridges for most of my life in many shapes, but the irritation i got from those, although better than what i experienced with the Phillishave of my dad, never changed. I just shaved once a week because i found the redness and irritation so uncomfortable. Now i shave every odd day, i have a quite random looking collection of razors, a lot of Open Comb, some Slants and closed bar stuff, some Open Comb Gillette razors from the start of 1900 and also lots of brand new stuff. My favourite at the moment is my Fatip Piccolo Open Comb, lovely efficient shaver! My favourite soaps are mostly Stirlings, an Noble Otter - Monarch. I do hope i will feel at home here
Welcome to TSD @Wilco Roos! Considering your Shave Journey and the items listed, you are our kind of guy. Please feel free to post photos of your gear, ask questions, and join in the discussion. I have a Fatip Piccolo and a couple Stirling soaps. Good stuff! Haven't tried Noble Otter products yet. So many choices, but only one face?
Jayaruh....Is that a recent portrait? Henderson County will cause strange things to happen to a person.
Welcome, Wilco! It's always a pleasure to have someone with your kind of experience who can jump right in and join the fun! I relatively new myself, and have found the people here to be warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. We've got a fun project going now. It's supposedly Single Edge September, but feel free to jump in with what you have. I've recently been introduced to the AC format through this forum and have begun shaving with a Razorock Hawk. I'm awaiting arrival of two new razors to me, a Blackland Vector and a Seki AS-D2. It's great to be able to share new shave experiences here and get good balanced feedback. From your introduction, it's clear to me that you'll fit right in. Welcome again! Enjoy your shaves, Jeff
Welcome @Wilco Roos from here in western NY. I primarily use vintage equipment (Gillette Schick Minora and Souplex). Glad you decided to join us at TSD
