Hello! Been a long time lurker and finally make the jump from cartridges to DE shaving. My reason? Not to save on costs and certainly not for convenience. It is for the simple daily pleasure of having a moment to myself where I can collect my thoughts and prepare for the day. It's been a month of DE shaving so far and I am enjoying it. I travel for work so I have to pack light and be wary of airport security measures. I carry a La Tola shave stick and a Simpson Wee Scot brush (in a vented Airborne container). I switch off between a 1941 Gillette Ranger Tech or a Feather All Stainless. I am still sampling razors but have enjoyed the Blue Israeli IP the most so far (and the worst was a Merkur). Many thanks to this very educational and supportive community!

to TSD....I'm glad your enjoying your DE experience....This place is friendly, great for learning and just having fun...
Welcome, and would you mind expanding on this? The way you capitalized the word "Airborne" makes me think you are talking about a military grade container. Pics?
Airborne... it's just that questionably effective effervescent supplement that makes for a great-fitting container. Here's a pic of the container with the brush (the interior of the cap is trimmed off and holes drilled): Sorry... not so exciting but has been working well for travel.
Hmm...never heard of it, but if Red Bull gives you wings, I want to try something that will make you airborne. I was actually thinking of one of those military grade gun cases with the pressure release valve in the side that are designed for carrying target pistols and the like on plane flights, but this seems to be a more affordable alternative.
