    Hey all

First time posting... and I'll start with a doozy :)

I've always had massive issues with back hair... to the point where I hate taking my shirt off in front of my wife (even thought she claims it doesn't matter, I know she doesn't like it)

I recently bought a Mangroomer Ultimate Pro and it's done a pretty damn good job for a first attempt. No visible hairs on my back... but now I have an issue

My shoulders / arms are also quite hairy. So at the moment it looks a bit silly because I have a shaven back but a hairline at the start of my shoulders haha

I don't want to be totally hairless... I'm just wondering if anyone else has this issue and how they deal with it?

I don't share these issues, but I am sure others will have thoughts.

welcome to TSD!! the best advice I could give you about this is that it is your decision. when it comes to shaving you can decide how far you want to go with it. some people around here just shave their face, others shave their head, legs, armpits, or you could shave your whole body.

Thanks guys... I'm just curious as to what others do. Unfortunately my hair is dark and thick... so I can't "just leave it". It's just finding the happy medium that is tricky cause I don't want to go too far haha

Additionally... I don't want the wife to know (yet). Shaving the top of my arms would be a dead give away that something's changed underneath the shirt :) (This is part of a shave and lose weight plan haha)

I have the semi hairy back and I get it wax every two months. I do my back and shoulders.

I'm hairy chested, but my wife like it and I don't mind, but that's the Hispanic in me, lol.....

My wife is half italian / spanish. So she hates hairy backs but loves hairy chests haha. Not planning on getting rid of that

As to your question... one word: laser

IMHO.... back and shoulders need to be groomed at a minimum. If you look like you're wearing a sweater in july or are embarassed to take off your shirt, then have at it. Chest and stomach are up to you, but the trend definitely seems to be well trimmed or shaven 'round these parts.

Arms? Nothing wrong with a trim, but unless you're a bodybuilder, totally shaven might not look good.

'Course you know the old joke: Why do Italian men wear all those gold chains? So they know where to stop shaving.

Yeah laser is the eventual goal once I can afford it. Wife had her legs done last year... and then her arms.... and then elsewhere haha

The shaver I bought is great though. Getting rid of the bulk was a chore but now it's just simple to maintain every few days

I tried the mangroomer years ago and really scraped up my back. Used it exactly once. Then saved up for laser. Totally worth it eevn though it didn't exactly tickle.

edit: as a side note, if you do opt for laser, you don't have to go for total removal and just get enough sessions for serious reduction.

I gave myself a couple of scratches with the heavy duty blade... but nothing that didn't fade after a couple of days. I've used the foil head since for cleanup an have had no issues
