I'm new to this forum, but not new to wet shaving, I have been wet shaving for almost 5 years, I started out with a Merkur 23c with Feather blades, 2 years ago I switched to a Muhle R41 also with Feathers usually, it was arough start, but once I got hold of the razor I love it, also since a week I'm the proud owner of a custom made Koraat straight razor. I also like to try out new soaps, my favorites so far are Stirling Glacier Lemon Chill (I love Menthol), DR Harris Windsor and Haslinger Honey, I also like Stirling Eucalyptus Mint. I shave with cold water by the way. I'm also very interested in straight razor, I have some strops and a 20k stone(Suehiro Gokumyo 20k water stone) since a few days.
Welcome to TSD! Glad you signed up and brought your experience with you. Sounds like you've started developing preferences, but are still trying new things. It's never too late to learn a new skill! If you have any questions, please ask. This is your own personal thread / conversation right here so it's all about you.
I'm currently learning how to strop and hone on the 20k . Cut my first strop and ordered a new one a few days ago. I have those strops from Herold and they are so small, I find those x-strokes quite hard to learn. To learn that I bought a Thiers Issard Le Dandy for 60euro from a shaving friend, we know each other from a dutch shaving forum. I'm also active on other forums and reddit by the way.
Hi from Seoul, nice to meet you. Koraat makes some wonderful razors, the Gokumyo 20k is wonderful stone to maintain your straights.
