http://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2017/12/handles-for-lather-catcher.html A while back I made eight handles for lather catcher razors, and they were distributed across the US and to S. Korea. I have had some interest in them, so today, being a very nice day, I got out and made a couple of more. This time I used wood from the Louisville Slugger stubs I got from Charlie, AKA @wristwatchb. Here is what I have so far. I will put another coat of paint on the handles and finish with polycrylic and an aluminum ferrule by @twhite. No, Tom. I am fine. I still have six left. I will let you know if I need more. These work just great. Thanks again, just wanted to give you credit.
You know all you have to do is ask. I will gladly take care of you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Thank you, Tom. You are a good friend. Here are the two handles. Gem Junior 1911 and Ever Ready 1914. Going to put a clear coat on them later tonight.
Those look absolutely fantastic. The original metal handles on most lather catchers are a little dinky.
Sigh.......I would rant..but I have one and love it. They are beautiful. Have you shaved with one yet? Even the short wood handle is awesome!!
@Jayaruh , I’m still using the handle I got rom you on my Gem Junior lather catcher and it really transformed the way it shaves. In the picture with both handles unfinished, I think the one on the left more closely matches the curvature of the original handle. Either way, they’re gorgeous! Anyone that has a lather catcher and does not have one of these handles should get on the list!
It really does. It feels like a totally different razor with that handle and becomes quite maneuverable. Big improvement!
