I could let you borrow the original Ever-Ready handle, so you can make a "true to size" copy/template, if you like. Some collectors might want the original sized ones for their collection.
Now you mention this. I could have sent a handle with the Hussy. I have two with the short wood handle. A 1907ish ER like the one up there and a 1910 Gem Jr. Bar. I really enjoy shaving with them. And I do mean really enjoy it. I was suprised how much I liked them.
Thanks, Scott. That would be great. Now, he mentions it. It will be nice to see a real one and get the correct dimensions.
The handle on the every ready and Gem look identical. If that falls through you can borrow one of mine.
Thanks, I think those old Star, Gem, and Ever-Ready lather catchers are some of the most beautiful works of razor art ever made. When I started collecting, I was able to pick up several, for next to nothing. Now, they can get a little pricy, for those in good shape. One day I will have a nice display cabinet, and will have many of my favorites on display.
Mine arrived today and it's a beauty. I look forward to finishing my move and unpacking the razors it fits
Wow! I just discovered this thread... Congratulations.....Jay you are amazing, this is some serious artwork here... Wow! That handle on the 1914 is incredible...I don't know why I haven't seen that treatment done before! Now I want one!
Sorry you missed out. I am fresh out of ferrules, but @twhite is on the job. He will be making some more. Maybe I will make some more next year.
