I was watching the third episode of 1923 and around 40 minutes in Harrison Ford is shaving with what looks like a Double Ring razor. He and his wife are having a discussion on shaving. I did my best to grab a screen shot. What do you think?
I guess I was too excited to see a razor in the 1920s. I should have known it was not a double ring because of the safety bar/no teeth. Gillette razors had teeth until the Tech, right? So, the razor was not historically accurate.
That's not a TTO razor, the blade centering "bullet" is clearly visible. It's a three piece razor. Yes, but no. Gillette razors had teeth until the tech. There's nothing there that says the razor has to be a Gillette. To my eyes it's too fat. It looks more like a Edwin Jagger, or maybe a Pearl razor. I'll see about watching the show, maybe younger eyes and a bigger screen will help.
The rings look similar in size to each other, whereas the Merkur's are clearly different. Gotta say negatory to the 38C
Pearl and Fatip are the only two I can think of off the top of my head. Edit: doesn't look like Pearl does anymore. Edit 2: It really reminds me of those DIY kit razors for pen turners, truth be told.
Yes sir, and it's CHEAP ...... eBay After seeing the additional pics, I found it in less than five minutes.
