I ran across this 1973 T-4 Canadian Gillette Tech razor in really good condition it’s like new. Has anyone ever seen a tech razor like this? (The color of this handle is unique!) I have seen handles like this in the natural aluminum finish but never this color. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Happy Shaves To Everyone, Bill G
where was it made?the box is early/mid 60s,the razor probably british, but maybe u.s made..screams mismatched set..
Box says Montreal Canada. See pic of back plate code T-4 I believe it was made in Canada or possibly British as you said. Mismatched or not I was curious about the handle color?? Bill G
Thank you, What you’re saying makes sense. Yes the base plate says REG US and the top cap is obviously Zinc 1973 era being code T-4. There was some question in this thread about the packaging being correct era ?? Again the color of the handle has been my main curiosity with this particular tech razor. Bill G
This is a pic of a Gillette Tech Razor code T-4. In the pic you can see the regular issued ball tip aluminum handle in the aluminum finish. I have never seen a darker handle on these razors other than the razor I originally posted above and is my curiosity about the razor. Bill G
I believe that too much time in Barbicide will do that to aluminum. Try polishing it with Flitz or equivalent.
That’s possible, I will let you know when I get the razor in my hands. Also someone could have also refinished the original handle to look this way stranger things have happened to these older razors…Lol. Bill G
Great point. I will check it out when I get the razor in my hands. Then I will let everyone know what I find. Bill G
