Looking around my bathroom shelves I noticed that all of my soaps were either soft Italian soaps or glycerin heavy melt and pour soaps. I realized that I had never given any consideration to hard soaps (other than Williams, which I hate). I found a few that looked interesting, including Provence Sante, Klar Kabinett, Queen Charlotte Soaps, and Musgo Real Shave Soap. The QCS seem interesting, but a little too pricey for an artisan soap. Klar Kabinett was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but for the amount you get still might be worth it. The Provence Sante was the right price and had good reviews, but for whatever reason just didn't grab me. The Musgo Real shave soap was the one that really caught my attention. I am referring to the shave soap that just came out last summer, and so far, although there seems to have been a lot of buzz leading up to its release, there has been no actual follow through. I have yet to find any reviews, thoughts, or impressions of this soap. For something so highly anticipated I find it a bit odd that no one has anything to say about this soap. Did this soap completely let folks down or has it just slipped into obscurity without anyone actually giving it a try? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I am waiting for a shipment to come in with a tube of musgo moss oak scent cream, but I have not tried the soap.
Yeah, there are plenty of thoughts and reviews on the various Musgo Real creams, but not on the soap.
The Musgo Real shave soap (not the preshave soaps) was universally condemned on another forum I frequent. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showth...dud-so-beware?highlight=musgo+real+shave+soap
Well, that would explain why there was so little talk about this soap, but with Musgo's creams being so highly praised I am surprised that there were not more folks spouting angry rants about Musgo dropping the ball on this one.
I have no experience with Musgo but I can say that I tried Provence Sante, the green tea scent, and it's become one of my favorites. I would prefer a better scent but it's so faint it's a non-issue.
I like the green tea scent, but I prefer a strong smell to my soaps, so I probably wouldn't care too much one way or the other about that soap unless it was an excellent performer.
