Just got done with my head, used 64 Gillette slim. Not to bad. Have hard time getting it the way I like it. Dialed to5 too many passes head little sore. Pre shave good, wash with glycerin soda, used Taylor cream sandlewood post shave GFT sandlewood very nice, think I will get some sharper blades and dial it down to 3.
They only look scarier... I'd use the notorious OCMM way before the blade-flexy Fatip. In my experience DEs give more cuts and razor burn but SE cuts may be a bit deeper... My worst nicks: OCMM, Featherweight, and Gillette Tech (don't underestimate any razor).
You've inspired me! Time for my every other day head shave! Off to the races with a ball end Tech and a Feather blade.
I think that the Feather and the Tech are a fantastic combo. This was my 3rd head shave with this blade and the results are phenomenal! It's almost like the sharp blade makes the mild Tech more efficient. I'm not sure I will waste the Feathers on my face anymore.
I really want to try the shaved head look sometime. maybe next time I go for a buzz I'll give it a go.
I always nicked myself with DE's or SE's for head shaves. I've been shaving with straights for 3 years, so decided 2 weeks ago to try shaving my head. Perfection. Not one nick. It felt more natural than when I tried DE's. Easier to get the angle right.
Ii have been shaving my head since 2000. I switched to a straight razor in 2008. I very rarely cut myself and I get a closer shave then with the Mach 3 turbo that I used for head shaving from 2000 to 2008. Since switching to the straight my head always looks like it has been buffed with a power tool. I prefer my head to be that smooth.
