I’m a barber by trade, father of twins, and collector of shaving gear. I’ve got quite a collection of razors, soaps, brushes and aftershaves.
We don’t use hot towels, we do use warm lather and a cartridge razor. We charge $18 for a once over. We do this to save time and reduce risk of nicks and cuts. For a hot towel shave, I would probably charge double what we charge for a once over. We get paid by the service, 65% commission. We also charge $18 for a regular mens cut, $16 for seniors 62 and older, and $23+ for women’s/long hair.
