Greetings from across the pond, I've enjoyed shaving for around 22 years and have always used a DE shavor, well I've only used two DE shavers in this time (also a few disposable's but never seriously). My 1st DE was my dad's, I'm unsure as to what make it was. It broke last year and I mentioned this to my parents. My mum gave me another that she had picked up in a jumble sale in the 1970's. I've been happily using this ever since. I was unaware of any shaving forums until I came across B&B a couple of weeks ago, Well I never! I've discovered that I'm using a Gillette L2 made in 1966! I had been using the gel from an aerosol until last week, now I'm in the know, I'm experimenting with foams, sticks, brushes and a bowl. My shave has yet to be a BBS one but I'm picking up tips at a rapid rate of knots. I have a blade selection pack en-route from the U.S. and can't wait to try them all out. I've beenusing standard Supermarket blades up until now. Anyway, Hello all
Welcome to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wetshaving. I hope you enjoy your stay!
Welcome! Your experience shows you don't have to be a hobbyist to enjoy using a DE, but these forums have a lot of information. Switching to real soaps does make a major difference, doesn't it?
it sure does! I've noticed the difference tenfold, and still haven't perfected the lathering tecnique, yet
Hi Mr Nozzle, I like the summer house You'll soon get BBS when you have looked round this resource for a while. I just keep learning more here all the time. Enjoy
Welcome to TSD! Being in the UK, you should at least be aware of Connaught Shaving, a good vendor on your side of the pond.
