I'm sure you'd look quite good in a goatee. Why not try a van dyke(goatee + moustache) to start? That way you get more area to shave without a drastic change to your looks.
Thanks to all for the warm welcome! @178-bplatoon: For sure, one reason for the goatee (or van dyke) pondering is gaining more shaving real estate. I sported the Van Dyke for over 25 years. I plan on growing it back soon; kind of the best of both worlds.
