Do you have a specific artisan or brand in mind to try? Or perhaps, a scent category? There are so many great options out there right now, it's a great time for SAD...lol.
to TSD "Alex Flores" Arko is a good lathering soap, although the smell may not be for everyone, I like it. It comes in both sticks and pucks. I usually just cut up(or you could grate it if you'd prefer) a stick or two and mash it into a small ZipLoc bowl for storage. Then I'll lather in a SS bowl I got off of ebay(it's the same dimensions as the VDH ceramic bowl). I hope you enjoy it here...
