My name is David from East Kilbride. Glad to be on board. I slowly weaned myself off cartridge razors a year ago and now have a small collection of DE razors. (26). Guess, I didn't save money, changing from cartridge razor blades to double edge razor blades. Still have my Cartridge razor. You never know.
to TSD David.....I'm sure you'll enjoy it here... 26 razors in a year is a "REALLY" good start!! Do you have variety (DE,SE,Injectors & Straights) in your collection?? If you don't, "YOU" will!! Also if you compare "traditional" shaving to shaving with carts, your shave is actually "MUCH" cheaper, as well as better and more satisfying..It's the hobby/collecting part that costs.. Don't worry the AD's are just part of the fun, but generally speaking they won't go away!! I even collected several different handles for my Trac2 carts...Have you started on aftershaves, soaps/creams, lather bowls/scuttles or blades yet?? Ahh this hobby can get "EXPENSIVE"
Yeah "Cut Throat" razors are so "BEAUTIFUL"!! I played with them for a tiny amount of time, but being too lazy to overcome the shaving learning curve, keep up proper maintenance and the fact that I get such stellar shaves so easily from my DE & SE razors, I just collected a few straights and called it a day....
