Hello all. Had my seventh wet shave yesterday and 1st that was nick free . I was introduced to wet shaving about 3 weeks ago and just love everything about it. As a person that previously hated shaving now I cant wait till my next shave. Started with my Dad's old Gillette probably from the 70's for my 1st two shaves. My buddy let me use his Timeless .68 scalloped for the past 2 weeks and have decided thats going to be the first razor I buy. It is beautiful. Anyway looking forward to learning from you all. Komi
Welcome to TSD @Komi! Glad you joined us and I hope we can assist in your Shave Journey. This is your own personal thread so feel free to ask questions. Plenty of knowledgeable folks around to supply advice, opinions, even actual information. That's a razor to be enjoyed. Heirloom's are few and far between though many of us enjoy vintage gear. If you look under the base plate it should have two marks that tell Year and Quarter of it's manufacture. On one side of the handle a capital letter, on the other a number. Nice thing about those old Gillettes - solid brass construction on the early ones & many finished in nickle plating that holds up well. Feel free to post photos!
Howdy! So the question must be asked, Seminoles, Gators, or hurricanes? Regardless of the answer welcome aboard.
Komi, welcome to The Shave Den! You're off to a great start! Please drop by the 30 Day Rule/Focus thread. Several of us are there are working on our technique and having fun. Using the same set up (razor, brand of blade, brush, and soap or cream) for 30 days is helpful in learning how to get consistently great shaves. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The party never stops, so you can join anytime.
Boilermakers actually. Grew up in Gary, Indiana and graduated from Purdue. But after being in Florida for 29yrs I also route for the Hurricanes. Also a Dolphins season ticket holder. Been a fan my whole life. All other sports it’s Chicago. Blackhawks, Cubs, Bulls.
