Currently my shave set up is using my grandfather's old razor, which I believe is a Gillete. Trufitt and Hill Grafton shaving cream and a horse hair brush

Plenty of friendly folks will offer opinions, advice, even actual information. A Legacy razor? Very nice! There are a couple ways to tell when it was made. Under the base plate there may be a date code - a letter on one side of the handle & a number on the other side. Others have one or more patent numbers. Upload a photo and one of our members might know all the information.
Gillette recycled the capital letters, and didn't make the Black Beauty in 1948. So that makes it a First Quarter (January, February, or March) of 1973. Forty eight and a half years old. There's an article HERE about the date codes. I've misplaced a chart I saved from the B&B website.
