Hi! Newbie here from St. Louis. Had my second shave today with an old Gillette Red Tip. Things went pretty well. I've ordered a dozen sample blades from Tryablade as I'm sure I can do better than the TopCare brand I'm using today. I tried the Kiss My Face shaving cream. It was quite slimy but seemed to do the job. I have a few scars on my chin and have lots of trouble not nicking those so I'm still using an electric razor around them. Any tips would be appreciated. I have another single edge razor that I can't identify. I'll post some pics in the safety razor section. Thanks! TPH.
Welcome aboard and greetings from St. Charles!! Glad to have you here. Friendliest and most intelligent bunch of guys and gals you could ever hope to meet. Ok, well maybe I should say friendliest and knowledgeable. Might be more accurate in a few cases, mine included. Feel free to ask any questions and get acquainted!
Hello neighbor. Another newbie from the saint louis area. I have learned a lot from this forum that has shortened my learning curve. Proper blade angle and light pressure greatly reduce razor rash and nicks for me. Also, the red tip is known for having a greater than average blade exposure. That means it will be more of a challenge to a guy that is learning, or relearning, the technique. Welcome.
