Hey everyone, I'm new to the world of 'old fashioned' shaving (as my friends call it) and I've never looked back on the decision to ditch the cartridge razors and abysmal canned shaving gels. I went out last month and bought both a Parker 22R DE safety razor and a DoVo shavette from my local 'Gentlemans store' (a brilliant little shop combining a barbers store and a tobacconist). I have to say, DE safety razors seem to be my preference, I'm finding it hard to perfect the angles and muscle memory to successfully shave with the shavette. Just dropping by to introduce myself
Welcome Mark some great guys on here, from all over, if you have a problem with anything shave wise, there will be someone to answer your query. Wherein the UK yer hail from?
Nice to meet you I come from a small mining village just south of Newcastle. I don't have the pronounced and elegant accent that most people come to expect from Englishman though
Using basics at the minute, a Parker DE safety with Derby blades, a boar brush and arko extra sensitive cream. Looking forward to diving further into it. What setup you got?
Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
Pretty similar to you, when I started. Now using my birth year super slim black tip, on rotation, vie long brush at the moment, etc etc. gets a bit addictive Mark, so start saving your money.. Lol, if yer married, don't tell her..
