Greetings from two continents, where Europe meets Asia, Istanbul-Turkiye.

This is Tarkan, age 54, engineer, app.3 years ago met wet shaving. We established a forum with a few of friends 2 and half years ago. www.tiraskeyfi.com . It is a Turkish shaving forum.

I started with DEs, after a year tried steel SR s and stick to them.

I've registered a few days ago, was trying to get familiar with the forum. Then I've read an emotional message and replied instantly. Then noticed that I haven't introduced myself. I apologise for this inconvenient entrance.

Thank you very much for your understanding and forgive me if I have weird use of language. English and Turkish have completely different structure.

I share my SROTD and SOTD s In my Instagram account: tarkanshaving

And don't worry about your English. Just from reading your post, it's better than some Americans I know! ;)

That's one way of putting it. You almost got slapped with an insta-ban last night. While I don't think you technically violated any rules, your post was in extremely poor taste as your very first post on the forum, and made you look rather like a vulture.

Here's hoping our future interactions are more pleasant, and welcome to the forum.

Thank you very much for your understanding. I didn't write my first message with a vulture thought. I felt so empathic and reacted so. I thought my wife can do the same after I die. Anyway, here I am.

Can I share my Instagram account?

I know, which is why I restrained my first impulse. And yes, we always like to see more razors!

    Hello Tarkan,

Looking at your interesting forum, I can't see a way on Windows 10 with Chrome to translate this into English. Would be fun though.

    Tiras Keyfi means...?

I bought some Arko from an online supplier here in Oz and guess what...?

    Arko1.jpg
    Arko2.jpg

I see most of this in Turkish? and some Arabic?(excuse my ignorance)

    "Kremli" = Cream, maybe?
"Tiras" is on there as well.

Didn't know this was all/mostly made in Turkey. Writing is too small for me to read, enlarging the piks is one way for these old eyes!

Lastly, let me add my welcome.

    Hello Chris,

I'm very pleased your visit to our forum. I will ask our IT support guy this translate issue. It should work. Thank you for your interest and kind warning.

Tiras, written in Turkish as tıraş, means shave, shaving.

Keyif, keyf, keyfi: It means pleasure, good mood, enjoy or fun.

    Kremli, yes it means creamy.

So, tiraskeyfi may be translated as shaving pleasure.

And, yes, Arko is an old, common and known Turkish shaving soap for wet shaving and barber's. Arab countries are their in target market as exported very much.

If the forum is interested, I can send a few dozens Arko with one of my friend who will come from US in March. He can post to one of volunteer member, may be to you, to post it as PIF from our forum. And you may send who asks to be sent. It will be an exhausting work to sent 20-30 people, but if you accept our gift, it will be our pleasure.

I'm grateful and appreciate your warm and kind welcome, thank you again.

Thanks for the translation, as a newbie to wet shaving in earnest for the last few months, there is lots to learn.
I sourced the Arko from an online supplier here in Australia and was interested in the wrapper: have yet to try it, but look forward to it soon!

Welcome aboard. Some of my favorite shave supplies come from Turkey, Arko shave cream and the used to be cheap YUMA safety razor.
