I am relatively new to DE shaving but have always appreciated fine grooming products. I have experimented with a number of DE razors (such as Merkurs, Pils, Feather, Joris and Muhle,) and have about 12 different shave creams and soaps. My brush experience is growing as I have not quite found the perfect brush. One thing I would love to see on the forum (maybe it exists) is a glossary of terms for soaps and creams so that I can continue my understanding of what ingredients make for a better product. Hardware seems relatively straight forward but cosmetics is both art and science. I look forward to the education.
to TSD "Mr Wonderful"........I hope you enjoy it here......Nice having a modest member on board... We have a number of fine soap makers here that maybe able to answer your questions, as well as many excellent, knowledgable members in general.... I've enjoyed my time here quite alot..I must say that I've found the entire shaving hobby/experience a blend of both art and science, with I.M.O. the art being a little more important...Time,Technique,Practice and Patience will get you the best shaves of your life....
Congratulations..your new membership entitles you to one bar of all natural virtual TSD welcome soap..enjoy..
. Ohpaos, Sara-S (one of the mods), and several others are fonts of information regarding soaps. Just don't let ohpaos know your computer has a mouse; it's a cat thing, understand.
