Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum, but have been wet shaving for about 12 years. I've used a variety of DE safety razors from the mid-50s - now. I've got brushes of badger, boar, and synthetic. I've used soaps in sticks, pucks, creams, and artisanal tubs. All of my near relatives (daughters, nieces, nephews, and in another 4 years or so, grand kids) receive a wet shaving kit on their 16th birthdays. I figure, start 'em young and teach 'em right. The rabbit I'm currently chasing down the hole is modern SE razors. I'm here to find out what you all are excited about.
Welcome Aaron M, glad to have you here. I think Colonial Razors THE GENERAL and the RazoRock Hawk version 3 in both ,the open comb and solid bar are very good SE artist club length blade razors. In the RazoRock Hawk V3, I prefer the solid to the open comb but I like both. In the older style, I have an Ever-Ready 1912 SE that I just used last week. The GEM G-BAR is a good one for me also. I have a few other ones too. Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk
I've had my eye on the Razorock Hawk for a while. I've been using a Leaf Thorn in my rotation for about a year. My next purchase will be a Parker SoloEdge. I've never used a razor that takes an AC blade, so I'm holding off on the Hawk for now. I'm of the opinion that single edge (1/2 DE blade) razors make for an easier transition into the wet shaving world. The last 2 friends I converted both started with a Parker Solo Edge.
I have the RazoRock Hawk V1. For me, it's not a great shave. I've never used the V2 Hawk. I also have never used the Parker Solo edge. I have a PAA Razor that takes a half blade. It's not bad but not great for me. Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk
I just noticed I never completed my post to you (what I had in mind to write). I also have the RazoRock Hawk V3, both OC and SB. I enjoy the V3 very much and am glad I purchased it . Sorry for omitting that important information. Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk
